Gilly B.

Gilly is an artist, a designer, and an illustrator. She graduated from Manchester Polytechnic with a BA (Hons) in textile design. She moved to Shetland in 2016, and lives on a boat in Scalloway. She loves to sketch “en plein air”, and is inspired by sudden entrants into the scene she is sketching - a figure walking in the distance; a flight of starlings.

We love her work because of the charming lightness of touch and little bursts of colour, which draw your eye from a long way across the room.
